To transfer your Medical Document from another licensed producer, register with Vitalicann and contact your current licensed producer to request a transfer. A new Medical Document is not needed. Any patient in Canada with a valid Medical Document can register and transfer to Vitalicann.

Understanding VAC Reimbursement Through Medavie Blue Cross: Key Information You Need
Dried cannabis and its equivalent in other cannabis forms
Covered for up to 3 grams per day (or 90 grams per 30-day period) and up to $8.50 per gram.
Vaporizors
Eligibility for up to $400 towards the purchase of a vaporizer every 3-year period.
If veterans have not ordered a vaporizer through VAC coverage before, they will need to obtain a prescription for one through your healthcare practitioner (HCP) first.

• K number (found on veteran’s Medavie Blue Cross Card)
• Medical document containing veteran’s diagnosis or a letter from HCP confirming the medical condition(s).

• Processing for VAC coverage can take up to 20 business days.
• Coverage renewal is required each time HCP submits a new medical document.
• For coverage on orders placed prior to receiving approval from VAC, receipts are to be submitted for reimbursement to the following address:

Veteran Support Beyond VAC Coverage*
No product restrictions
Vitalicann covers cost difference beyond VAC reimbursement rate ($8.5 per gram). No order limits as long as consistent with Medical Document^.
Uninterrupted access to Medical Cannabis with Good Faith Coverage
It can take up to 20 business days to receive a Decision Letter from VAC.
During this time, Vitalicann provides interim coverage for medical cannabis under Good Faith Coverage (GFC) Program for the first 30 days (up to $8.50/gram at a maximum of 90 grams/month) at no additional cost.

We proudly offer a 20% discount to support Canadian military personnel and their families.
This discount is available to:
- Active Canadian military members currently serving.
- Released Canadian military members who do not yet have coverage or a pensioned condition qualifying them for benefits.
- Spouses of Veterans, provided they are the spouse of an active Veteran patient registered with Vitalicann and reside at the same address.
*Discount programs cannot be combined.
